lyrics

When i came down off the mountain I was breaking like a wave
rolling over everything in sight
shining like a silver-plated nickel in the sun
I was dispersed across the universe of light

I came up to the ocean and i didn't hesitate
I zoomed right over looking for a new way home
all the birds and fishes flew and swam right up to me
and reminded me that I was all alone

Scannin the horizon looking for a sign of you
when I saw your sillouhette my heart stopped
but then I got up close and found out it was just a ghost
and i was sad that i had left the mountaintop

Wondering where you'd gone i made my way around the sun
i called your name out loud just like it was my own
but you didnt show your face so i just gave up on the chase
and made my way down to the city far below

who's going to love me today?
who's going to call me their own?
who's going take me as I am?
who's going to take me home?
yeah, whos going to take me home?

I signed up for midnight madness at 11:45
I was too early to be anything but sane
all the crazy kids caroused until the break of day
they were dancin like their feet were made of flame

I could not feel the beat so i just there in my seat
with a longing that the earth could not contain
i sat there in the corner counting particles of dust
with memories flooding me like rivers in the rain

who's going to love me today?
who's going to call me their own?
who's going take me as I am?
who's going to take me home?
yeah, whos going to take me home?

I saw a spider spinning string into the wind he's tying things
you never know the lengths he'll go to catch a fly
I want to spin stuff to so that's just what I'm gonna do
I'm gonna sing and swing and spin until I die

Going up the mountain with an ever-ready heart
it looks much different than it did on the way down
lookin for a sign of you and let me tell you when I do
I'll sing it in the cities and the towns

who's going to love me today?
who's going to call me their own?
who's going take me as I am?
who's going to take me home?
yeah, whos going to take me home?
who's going to call me their own?
who's going take me as I am?
who's going to take me home?
